As a program of the University of California, 4-H offers a variety of programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of young people from day trading cryptocurrency 5-19 years old. 4-H is one of the largest youth development programs in the United States with more than 6.5 million young people ages 5-19, and 540,000 youth and adult volunteers. There are over 1,400 youth participating in Wayne County 4-H. Each 4-H member determines their interests and from there, decides which project(s) would fit them best.

As a 4-H club member, you have the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, learn about projects, and participate in club trips and activities, and more. Each club is unique, as YOU determine the focus of your own club. 4-H may have gotten its start in rural America, but today, 4-H Clubs are in all cities, suburbs, towns and neighborhoods, too. Clubs are easy to start… all you need is an adult volunteer and five kids who agree to meet at least six times during the year.

You may join 4-H at any time in the year, however, a new program year begins September 1 and annual enrollment fees will be collected then. We recommend that you enroll early in the year to have the maximum experience possible. Workshops, camps, and special programs happen throughout the calendar year and may have their own enrollment deadlines. Getting Involved!

Each club has a constitution and expectations of its 4-H members. It is best to locate a club whose expectations and goals align with yours as a parent. Young people, age 5 and in Kindergarten through age 18, as of January 1 of the current year, may join.

Each year on October 1st, all membership in Missouri 4-H goes to inactive and all youth and adult volunteers must re-enroll.

Range Science

You don’t have to join a club to be in 4-H, but it is the most popular way to participate. Clubs generally meet once or twice a month on a regular schedule, which is determined by the members of the club. During meetings, you learn how to accomplish the goals of your projects, how to run a business meeting, and how to do demonstrations about your projects. The clubs may plan recreational activities, community service projects, fundraisers, and field trips.
